"Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed."
Eckhart Tolle
Observing the Present Moment.
It is a blessing to appreciate the present moment. Observe it. Allow your mind to enjoy how it feels to be “here”, right now.
Enjoy reading a book, bask in the sunlight, appreciate your morning coffee and breathe into your body. This is what makes meditation so powerful and interesting. We already know the body breathes on its own, but energizing that breath and following the flow of it can be healing and a powerful energy reset. Something this “complex and simple” can clear your mind, remove anxiety and allow you to make decisions with more clarity. Pause. Breathe. Relax into the present moment.
Expanding the Present.
It is a blessing to be present but its an incredible gift to weave in the senses and expand the experience of the present.
For example, walk through a forest. Smell the air and take in the scent of the trees. Feel the twigs beneath your feet, hear the birds, listen to the sound of your own steps, see the sunlight streaming through the trees. etc. Notice and expand. Just one sense that you lean towards can expand your memory of the present moment and breathe more life into that moment.
An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.
Henry David Thoreau
Living more in the present moment expands your ability to observe and weave more senses into your experience of it. As your focus sharpens, each one of your senses becomes a vehicle for improving your ability to receive the blessings of the now. And, create a unique memory and mental snapshot of it.
With minimal effort, life can be a living meditation if you notice the blessings of the present moment.
