The path to Loving Kindness.

The one who notices is already free.

Taking time for loving kindness.

When was the last time you took time out for yourself? Just a simple of act of self-love to sit and rest makes a profound difference to your mindset and health.  One of the most curious and elegantly simple expressions of self-love is choosing a meditation for loving kindness.

If we can offer our own soul a time to speak to us and to allow loving kindness into our own mental space, it can shift us positively out of a rut.

Moving beyond judgement.

We can be generous through loving kindness and by adopting the intention to send that energy to everyone we have contact with.   Spending time in meditation is not a selfish pursuit but an act of compassion for yourself, [taking time to reflect, pause and rest] and to positively contribute to others by being restored and energized.

Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness.”

Meditations for loving kindness.

There is no perfect cookie-cutter formula to offer yourself loving kindness.  What is important is to notice what you need in this very moment.  Go for a walk. Sit still. Listen to the sound of rain. Feel the wind on your face, riding a bike.  Soak in a warm sea salt bath.  Appreciate silence.

Offer yourself an opportunity to listen inward and decide how to use this moment to meditate and invite in more loving kindness.

This is just one approach….

Take a deep breath and slowly exhale.

Relax your body.

Focus on how you are feeling and what you are noticing in this moment.

Fill your heart with light. As you take a breath in, take in that light and as you exhale, send that loving kindness and light to all of the cells in your body.

Focus on one thought such as :

May I be healthy and strong.

May I be happy,

May I be peaceful wherever I am.

Extending Loving Kindness to Others/All.

Loving Kindness meditations have other levels. Once you have offered loving kindness to yourself, you can also extend love to others. Consider extending loving kindness to those you care about and then extend it to  those who you might difficulty caring without forgiveness or compassion and then, lastly,  extend loving kindness to all living beings.

With intention breathe in loving kindness and when you exhale, send it out like an energy broadcast.

Through compassion and loving kindness, it is easy to recognize we are all connected.

Loving kindness is a powerful force of transformation. It can bring you powerfully into the moment and uplift you. It can help you forgive and find loving kindness with people, places and in conditions that you once could not.  The act of turning love inwards is a blessing and a wonderful path to living more powerfully and peacefully in the present moment.

Be loving and kind to yourself.
