The Power of Being Present.

Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time — past and future — the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is.”

Stepping into the Moment.

It’s so easy to become distracted. We can lose our focus and waste time paying attention to information feeds and images. But what is it really doing? Are we losing our recognition of our own power to choose?

The most powerful thing you can do is to choose what you are paying attention to. Create a filter through energizing the present moment. Step into the present moment and notice it.

Breathe.  Pause the download of distractions. Empower what you want to expand.  Take back your power.  Focus on the moment.

Always hold fast to the present. Every situation, indeed every moment, is of infinite value, for it is the representative of a whole eternity.”

Expanding your awareness of the Moment.

As you step into the present moment, it is possible to expand on the feeling of it. Engage all of your senses. Expand the experience of being present and the way it makes you feel.  Feel your energy rise as you recalibrate and choose to sharpen your focus.

Expect to notice “interference”, and patterns. See limitations in order to break them. What may have been seen as an obstacle just might become an opportunity,  Being present is an empowering process.

The Power of The Present.

What about habitual patterns and daily tasks? It’s true, we can feel like we are on auto-pilot. And, sometime this is true. Being less awake and not paying attention we might miss things that really matter to us. Or, fail to recognize the little things that can positively and dramatically change our day.  Happiness might be overlooked.  Instead, we might feel compelled to complain or see the problems, the conflicts and the mistakes.

Gratitude practice in meditation can be liberating. Journalling gratitudes works as well. Both methods shift our discernment and upgrades our filter for identifying what is relevant and irrelevant. Through gratitude we not only empower our “placement” but can change how we can be more powerfully present in it.

There is incredible power in being more aware, awake and present.  Here we have the power to decide, act and choose with more mental clarity.

Meditation, moving or sitting, can invite us to take time out to be more powerfully present. It is an opportunity to shift from being pulled and distracted to being more in command of your own “attention”, your own energy and expanding your ability to be more present in the moment.  Peace of mind isn’t something out of reach. It is achievable with a deliberate decision to step into your own power and create your own inner mental sanctuary.

I’ve attached a link to an article on how to create a mental sanctuary. “How to create stability in changing conditions.”

Seize the opportunity to live more in the present and to feel more life in that moment. It is wonderful to discover that a simple choice of stepping into the energy of NOW can bring happiness. Because, we can choose what to allow into our field of  “attention” and decide what we choose to highlight. Notice how you feel as you choose more deliberately throughout the day. Simple pauses in your day to be mindful, grateful and to relax will bring you back into a place of power, of focus and into the present moment.

Have a brilliant week.
